He married Mary Elizabeth Wetherby, daughter of John Wetherby and Lucinda (__?__), before 1867. He married, at age 50, Moriah S. Gillett, age 61, daughter of Silas Gillett and Phebe Gilbert, on 7 September 1893. He died on 12 May 1922 in East Otto, Cattaraugus Co., New York, at age 78.
